Admitted to the Dutch Bar in 1993 and specialized in litigation, acquisitions, liquidations and restructuring, I consult and litigate in disputes that arise in companies, take-overs, but also cases concerning liability of a contractual nature. After completing my LLM at the University of Leiden I graduated from the post-academic specialization program in Mergers & Acquisition of the University of Amsterdam en cum laude from the post-academic specialization program in Financing and Securities, as well as Company Law at the Grotius Academy of the University of Nijmegen. I am also member of the Association for Corporate Litigation.
Before founding Kesnich I was a partner at a mid-sized law firm, where I was responsible for the company law practice of the firm.
I’ve got a firm belief that a law firm can operate differently. Transparency, efficiency and speed are of ever increasing importance in our ‘lawyerificating’ society. No superfluous advice which only leads to slowing down the legal process. These developments have led to my own search in defining what drives me, and it is surprisingly simple. My most important drive in doing what I do, is using my knowledge and experience to aid shareholders, directors and entrepreneurs, right when it matters most. I am focused on getting results. That is what drives me.
Bart Kesnich has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
- Corporate law
- Contract Law
- Civil procedural law
Based on this registration, he/she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar. Of course, Bart meets this requirement.
